The Women’s Creative Centre Inc. was established in 1975, the International Women’s Year, to provide a place for women of all ages and backgrounds to gather in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere to practise craft skills in group activities and enable women to sell their craft on a commission basis.
In 1989 the group moved to a shop in Greenslopes Mall. The Centre has no paid workers, and all management and teaching is by volunteer work.
The Women’s Creative Centre Inc. is a non-profit organisation.
It supports the Queensland Cancer Fund with a monthly donation from members and from a donation box.

Provide a common place where women from all levels of society can gather to relax in the company of other women
Promote public awareness, knowledge and appreciation of respective arts and craft
Provide opportunities for the study of, and tuition and training in the respective crafts.

The Centre exists, because of the voluntary work of the members who share skills, responsibilities and believe the organisation is building a women’s place in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.
